Executive: Upstream Development & Production
Mtundeni “Iron” Ndafyaalako has over 10 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary oil & gas industry environment. At NAMCOR, he is the Executive: Upstream Development & Production, providing oversight of NAMCOR’s active participation in the recent oil discoveries to ensure sustainable and ESG-conscious development to production. Mtundeni is also responsible for driving NAMCOR’s strategy on the acquisition of production assets to secure sustainable long-term revenue and is a Director and Chairperson of Sungara Energies, a UK-registered NAMCOR subsidiary.
Mtundeni holds a BSc Hons. Degree in Geological Engineering (petroleum exploration and production), an MSc in petroleum geosciences and a certificate in Senior Management Development from the University of Stellenbosch. He is currently finalizing his MBA (Finance) at NBS.
Prior to joining NAMCOR, Mtundeni worked as a consulting geologist at Pioneer Oil & Gas, and as petroleum inspector at the Ministry of Mines and Energy. Mtundeni joined NAMCOR as a geoscientist, before taking up the role of New Ventures Manager to oversee NAMCOR’s international upstream business projects.
