Caption: NAMCOR’s Managing Director Immanuel Mulunga was recently honoured with a Life Time Achievement Award, by organisers of Africa Oil Week in Cape Town, South Africa.
Mulunga is praised for transforming the oil licensing industry which boomed since he took over in 2003 as the petroleum commissioner. The search for oil attracted international players to Namibia. He vigorously spearheaded Namibia’s campaigns as an attractive destination for hydrocarbon potential, at various oil and gas platforms in the Unites States of America, the United Kingdom and other parts of the world.
A humbled Mulunga expressed appreciation at the award. “I am humbled at this honour, which I gladly accept on behalf of Namibia.”
The Stellenbosch University Masters of Business Administration (MBA) graduate has a wealth of petroleum administration experience, having served as Petroleum Commissioner in the Ministry of Mines & Energy (MME). He held that position for well over a decade from February 2003 up until his appointment as NAMCOR’s chief administrator in October 2015.
Mulunga holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry & Zoology from the University of Namibia (UNAM) and a Diploma in Petroleum Policy & Management from PETRAD in Norway.
