NAMCOR’s Managing Director Obeth Kandjoze is among the eight National Assembly nominees of President elect Dr. Hage Geingob. This effectively means that his five year term will end within a few weeks, after a two and half year stint at the helm of the national oil company.

President elect Geingob will officially take over the reigns, as Namibia’s third Head of State on the 21st March 2015. Members of Parliament are expected to be inaugurated soon thereafter.

The University of Helsinki Master of Science (Geology & Chemistry) graduate has 17 years experience in the petroleum sector, having served in various capacities within the industry, the bulk of which was spent at NAMCOR.

He has previously served NAMCOR as Exploration & Production Manager, New Ventures Manager, and Petroleum Explorationist over a 15 year period. Before this, he served as Country Exploration Manager for an Australian exploration company TransContinental Resources and Field Geologist at the Geological Survey of Namibia in the Ministry of Mines & Energy.
